The trip to Lebanon is over; the country is currently experiencing a lot of difficulties, and currency exchange rates are 1:1500 US dollars to Lebanese pounds. The official exchange rate between the US dollar and the Lebanese currency is still 1:1500, but the market is already 1:39000, so people's hard-earned money is being swallowed up! But prices are not cheaper because of this.

Lebanon's ecological environment is the best in the Middle East countries visited; lush trees can be said to be the least like the Middle East countries of a country. However, due to long civil wars and government incompetence, dirty areas can often be seen; it is still much better than Egypt. Even green drivers we rented said that "clean Catholic areas" were clean . . . . I felt that people and military police here were still very warm and friendly; I did not encounter forced buying and selling in Egypt all the time---which is better than Jordan because there are still few tourists. Tourism resources in Lebanon are still very rich; strongly recommended Middle East side trip to Lebanon but always note that Lebanon prohibits entry into travellers who have been to Israel!

We recommend our taxi driver, Saiedl, to Baalbeck and the airport: 0096171803384. He speaks English, is cheerful and his prices are fair.
